Triz
For pre-mortems and retrospectives, especially large scale in either size of the project or number of people involved.
I have to say I'm not really drawn to this one. I like the classic pre-mortem activity, and have many simpler options for retrospectives. I also have a hunch that this particular type of speculation is quite tricky to facilitate for the languages/cultures that I tend to work with. That is Japanese, English - for a mix of Europeans, and English/French for an even wider mix of countries of origin.
I'm very open to being wrong about that and will actively seek an opportunity to be a participant in a tightly-facilitated session...! I do like a good pre-mortem.
This entry is part of an ongoing series of Field notes from my Liberating Structures practice.
